WIESBADEN – In July 2021, the accommodation establishments in Germany recorded 48.2 million overnight stays of visitors from Germany and abroad. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of 6.0% compared with July 2020. As in June 2021, the accommodation establishments profited from the gradual lifting of accommodation bans concerning private visitors from May 2021. However, the number of overnight stays in July 2021 again remained below the level of 2019, the pre-crisis year. Compared with July 2019, the accommodation establishments recorded a decline of 18.0% in the number of overnight stays.
