Turnover in accommodation and food services, August 2021 (provisional results, calendar and seasonally adjusted)

WIESBADEN - In August 2021, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover in accommodation and food services increased by a real (price adjusted) 5.9% and a nominal (not price adjusted) 6.4% compared with July 2021. Compared with August 2020, turnover was up 5.9% on a real basis. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that turnover in the accommodation and food services sector in August 2021 was still a real 16.2% below the level of February 2020, the month before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany.
