- 2.1% more start-ups of larger businesses compared with the pre-crisis level (1st to 3rd quarter of 2019)
- Number of small business start-ups 3.6% below the value of the same period a year earlier and 21.2% below the pre-crisis level
- Complete business shutdowns declined by 2.6% on the same period of the previous year and by 18.9% from the pre-crisis level
WIESBADEN - According to provisional results, well over 94,700 businesses were started in Germany in the first three quarters of 2021, whose legal form and number of employees suggest that they have greater economic importance. Based on an evaluation of business notifications, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was 9.3% more than in the relevant period of the previous year, which was affected by the coronavirus crisis, but also 2.1% more than before the crisis (1st to 3rd quarter of 2019). Data for Bayern for the reference month September 2021 are not yet available and have therefore not been taken into account.
