WIESBADEN – Agreed earnings in Germany rose by an average of 0.9% in the third quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. This was the smallest increase since the beginning of the time series in 2010. The result includes the agreed basic remuneration and the extra payments provided for in wage settlements, such as one-off payments, annual extra payments or agreed back payments. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that, excluding extra payments, the year-on-year increase amounted to 1.3%. Consumer prices went up by 3.9% over the same period.
