WIESBADEN – Citizens and businesses in Germany are satisfied overall with the services provided by public authorities. This is the result of a survey conducted recently by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on behalf of the Federal Government. From February to May 2021, approximately 6,000 citizens and 2,700 businesses were surveyed about their satisfaction regarding contacts with public authorities. According to the survey results, 83% of the citizens and 80% of the businesses stated that they were fairly or very satisfied with administrative services. Despite the massive impact of the corona pandemic on the economy and society, the survey thus has shown that German administrative authorities are mostly regarded as reliable partners in times of crisis too.
