WIESBADEN – In the third quarter of 2021, turnover in crafts with compulsory approval in Germany increased by 3.6% compared with the third quarter of 2020. After the marked recovery (+11.4%) in the second quarter of 2021 compared with the same quarter a year ago, the positive trend continued. Based on provisional figures, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the number of persons employed in crafts with compulsory approval was however down by 1.2% at the end of September 2021 compared with the end of September 2020. Thus the declining trend in employment continued. At the end of June 2021, the number of persons employed in crafts with compulsory approval had been down by 1.0% year on year.
