WIESBADEN – In autumn 2021, agricultural holdings in Germany sowed winter rape on 1.1 million hectares of land for the 2022 harvest. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the area sown with winter rape for the next harvest is 86,700 hectares larger (+8.7%) than the area cultivated in 2021. The biggest changes in area took place in Niedersachsen (+13,300 hectares), Brandenburg and Sachsen-Anhalt (+11,900 hectares each), and Schleswig-Holstein (+11,400 hectares).
