WIESBADEN - According to an estimate of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), real (price adjusted) turnover in accommodation and food service activities in Germany remained unchanged in 2021 compared with the previous year. In nominal terms (not price adjusted), turnover increased by 2%. This means that turnover in the years 2020 and 2021 was at its lowest level since the beginning of the time series in 1994. Compared with 2019, turnover in accommodation and food services decreased by just over 40% in real terms in 2021 and by almost 36% in nominal terms.
