Press release No. 082 of 2 March 2022
WIESBADEN – The producer prices of logging products in Germany increased by an annual average of 14.8% in 2021 compared with 2020. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was the first increase in the prices of raw timber from state forests since 2014. The rise in prices was firstly due to an increased demand for construction timber, which is also reflected in raw timber prices. And secondly, more timber was exported, for example, to the United States of America.
