WIESBADEN – As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the annual turnover in the main construction industry in 2021 was up 1.0% compared with the previous year.
Compared with December 2020 the turnover was down 3.2% in December 2021.
This result should take into account the level in the same month of the previous year: In December 2020, the units reporting the largest declines in December 2021 posted record turnovers. This is largely due to pull-forward effects from the temporary VAT cut that expired at the turn of 2020/2021.
The number of persons employed by main construction industry entrepreneurs in 2021was up 1.4% compared to the level a year earlier.
