- Business insolvencies down 11.7% in 2021 on 2020
- Number of consumer insolvencies nearly doubled in 2021 compared with 2020
WIESBADEN – Based on provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the number of requests for normal business insolvency in Germany fell by 4.2% in February 2022 on January 2022. Their number had dropped by 17.2% in January 2022 compared with the previous month. During the Covid-19 pandemic, insolvency figures decreased, at times considerably, as a result of special legal regulations and financial support. There have not been any special pandemic-related regulations in force since May 2021.
