More building permits for two-family and multi-family houses (+16.6% and +19.0%, respectively) and fewer for single-family houses (-11.8%), partly due to end of KfW support
WIESBADEN – The construction of 29,951 dwellings was permitted in Germany in January 2022, according to provisional figures. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of 8.3% or 2,297 building permits compared with January 2021. The figures include building permits for both dwellings in new buildings and new dwellings in existing buildings.
