Service sector turnover, February 2022 (provisional, original values)
+13.9% on the same month a year earlier (in real terms)
+17.9% on the same month a year earlier (in nominal terms)
WIESBADEN – In February 2022, the real (price adjusted) turnover of the service sector in Germany (not including financial and insurance activities) was 13.9% higher and the nominal (not price adjusted) turnover 17.9% higher than in February 2021, according to provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). Compared with February 2020, the month before the coronavirus pandemic broke out in Germany, turnover was up by 5.0% in real terms and by 11.8% on a nominal basis. The difference between the nominal and the real development is due to the fact that producer prices of services markedly increased during the period considered.
