- 1.43 million non-motorised bicycles were produced in 2021, 10.0% more than in 2020
- Bicycle prices markedly up in 2021 on 2020
Households had just under 61.1 million traditional bicycles and 7.1 million e-bikes in 2021
WIESBADEN - Popular leisure activity in Covid-19 times or a contribution to the mobility transition – the trend towards cycling continues to produce high levels of turnover in retail trade. The all-time high of 2020 was however not exceeded in 2021, one of the reasons probably being problems in worldwide supply chains.
