WIESBADEN – In April 2022, 214 people died in road traffic accidents in Germany, according to provisional results. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that 34 more people were killed in road traffic in April 2022 than in April 2021 when the Covid-19 pandemic had a stronger impact on traffic accidents due to lockdown measures. The number of people injured increased by 23% to 26,200 in April 2022 year on year.
