WIESBADEN – When calendar and seasonally adjusted, turnover generated by independent petrol stations in Germany was down a real 11.7% (price adjusted) and a nominal 0.5% (not price adjusted) in May 2022 compared with February 2022. This is shown by provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). This means that independent petrol stations sold 11.7% less motor fuel in this period. Real turnover reached the largest month-on-month decrease so far this year in March 2022, the first month after war broke out in Ukraine. Real turnover fell by 5.5% on February 2022, whereas nominal turnover reached an all-time high.
