WIESBADEN – There were 43.1 million dwellings in Germany at the end of 2021. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the stock of dwellings rose by 0.7%, or roughly 280,000 dwellings, on the previous year (2020: 42.8 million). Compared with 2011, the stock of dwellings increased by 6.0% or 2.5 million dwellings.
