WIESBADEN – The number of young people living in Germany is lower than ever. At the end of 2021, just over 8.3 million people were between 15 and 24 years old. This is a proportion of 10.0% of the total population, as reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) to mark the start of a three-week series of releases on the European year of youth.
