Turnover in accommodation and food services, July 2022 (provisional results, calendar and seasonally adjusted)

WIESBADEN – In July 2022, the calendar and seasonally adjusted turnover in accommodation and food services decreased by a real (price adjusted) 1.5% and increased by a nominal (not price adjusted) 0.4% compared with June 2022. Based on provisional results, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that turnover was a real 10.2% and a nominal 19.0% higher than in July 2021. Compared with July 2019, the corresponding month before the Covid-19 crisis, turnover in accommodation and food services was down 9.3% in real terms and up 4.3% in nominal terms in July 2022. The difference between the results in real and nominal terms reflects the high price increases in accommodation and food services (+7.9% on the same month a year earlier).
