- Over 400,000 registered arrivals already in the first month of war
- More arrivals from Ukraine also in the summer months
- Just under three quarters of adults arriving from Ukraine were women
WIESBADEN – From February to August 2022, 952,000 arrivals of people from Ukraine were recorded in Germany. Most of them occurred in March (431,000) and April (198,000), which are the first two months after Russia’s attack on Ukraine started. Based on provisional results of an ad-hoc evaluation of raw data from migration statistics, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that, although immigration from Ukraine has decreased since then, it remained markedly above previous year's level of an average 1,000 arrivals per month also in the summer months of July (58,000) and August (70,000).
