WIESBADEN – Producer prices of agricultural products were 34.5% higher in August 2022 than in August 2021. The rate of change had been +33.4% in July 2022 and +33.9% in June 2022. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that prices in August 2022 were up 2.1% on the previous month. The prices of plant products rose by +21.4% on the same month a year earlier, which was a smaller increase than that of animal products prices (+44.1%). The rate of change in July 2022 had been +25.8% for plant products and +38.8% for animal products.
