- Investments of 63.0 billion euros in 2021
- Investments down 10.9% on pre-crisis year 2019
WIESBADEN – In 2021 the German industry invested 63.0 billion euros in tangible fixed assets (for instance machinery, land with buildings, tools). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was an increase of 2.1 billion euros, or 3.5%, compared with the previous year. The volume of investments was however 10.9% lower than in 2019, the year before the Covid crisis began. At that time, the German industry had invested 70.6 billion euros.
