WIESBADEN – The number of in-patient treatments for testicular cancer fell by 40% within 20 years. Roughly 10,900 boys and men all over Germany were treated in hospital for testicular cancer in 2020. This is reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) to coincide with Men’s World Day, a day of action on 3 November focusing on men’s health. 20 years earlier, 18,100 patients were hospitalised with a diagnosis of testicular cancer. For comparison: the number of in-patient hospital treatments of male patients was down 5% in the same period, which was a much smaller decrease, that is, from 841,000 cases in 2000 to 800,000 in 2020.
