WIESBADEN/BERLIN – Economic sentiment in Germany continues to be pessimistic despite a slight upturn. Current data do however not indicate a deep recession yet. This is the assessment of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) given during the presentation of the Economic Pulse Monitor (Pulsmesser für die Wirtschaft) at the Digital Summit on 8 and 9 December 2022 in Berlin. The new offer presented by the authority is a tool for real-time economic monitoring. By combining official short-term indicators with high-frequency non-official data from institutes and other providers, the Economic Pulse Monitor enables the economic situation in Germany to be quickly assessed – it is always up to date and available any time in the Dashboard Germany (only in german) (www.dashboard-deutschland.de).
