Wholesale selling prices, November 2022
+14.9% on the same month a year earlier
-0.9% on the previous month
WIESBADEN – The selling prices in wholesale trade were 14.9% higher in November 2022 than in November 2021. The annual rates of change in October 2022 and in September 2022 had been +17.4% and +19.9%, respectively. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that, compared with the previous month, wholesale prices decreased by 0.9% in November 2022.
The high annual rate of change for wholesale prices mainly derives from increased prices for raw materials and intermediate products. The largest impact on the annual rate of change in November 2022 had the price increase in wholesale trade with mineral oil products (+30.4%). The high price increase in wholesale trade with solid fuels (+96.8%), as well as with grain, unmanufactured tobacco, seeds etc. (+21.2%) also contributed to the high rate of change in November 2022.
