Persons employed in manufacturing, October 2022

WIESBADEN – At the end of October 2022, 5.5 million people worked in local units of manufacturing with 50 or more persons employed in Germany. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the basis of provisional results, that was about 60,600 persons or 1.1% more than in October 2021.
The number of hours worked in October 2022 decreased 2.5% from a year earlier, reaching 661 million – here it has to be considered, that there were up to two working days less than in October 2021.
The earnings amounted to 24.0 billion euros in October 2022. In the past 12 months (November 2021 to October 2022), the earnings increased by 4.5% compared to the same period last year.
