Prices of residential property, 3rd quarter of 2022 (provisional)
+4.9% on the same quarter of the previous year
-0.4% on the previous quarter
WIESBADEN – The prices of residential property (house price index) in Germany rose an average 4.9% in the third quarter of 2022 on the same quarter a year earlier. The year-on-year change rate of the house price index thus fell by almost half from the second quarter of 2022 (+9.7% on the second quarter of 2021). A lower increase on a year earlier was last recorded in the third quarter of 2015 (+4.4%). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the prices of dwellings and of single-family and two-family houses were down by an average 0.4% compared with the previous quarter.
