Persons in employment resident in Germany, November 2022

WIESBADEN – Roughly 45.9 million persons resident in Germany were in employment in November 2022. According to provisional calculations of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the seasonally adjusted number of persons in employment increased again on the previous month, by 45,000 or 0.1%. In October 2022, the seasonally adjusted number of persons in employment rose by 32,000 (+0.1%) month on month.
Adjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.0% in November 2022
According to results of the labour force survey, 1.25 million people were unemployed in November 2022. That was a decrease of 132,000, or 9.5%, compared with November 2021. The unemployment rate was 2.8% (November 2021: 3.2%).
Adjusted for seasonal and irregular effects due, for instance, to weather conditions or strike, the number of unemployed stood at 1.32 million, which was slightly less than in October 2022 (-6,500 people). The adjusted unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.0% in November 2022.
