- Number of approved dwellings down by 7,700 on January 2022
- Building permits for new construction issued in January 2023: -25.5% for single-family houses, -48.4% for two-family houses, -28.6% for multi-family houses
WIESBADEN - In January 2023, the construction of 21,900 dwellings was permitted in Germany. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that this was a decrease of 26.0%, or 7,700 building permits, compared with January 2022. The results include building permits for both dwellings in new buildings and new dwellings in existing buildings.
