WIESBADEN – Producer prices of agricultural products were 1.1% higher in March 2023 than in March 2022. While year-on-year change rates all exceeded 20% in the period from November 2021 to February 2023, the increase in March 2023 was substantially lower. This is mainly due to a base effect caused by the very high price level of the previous year. In March 2022, the producer prices of agricultural products had risen by 34.7% from March 2021. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that prices dropped by 3.3% in March 2023 compared with February 2023.
