- 39.8% more business start-ups but also 29.9% more closures of small businesses
- Complete business closures (total) up 16.8%
WIESBADEN – In the 1st quarter of 2023, roughly 33,100 businesses were established in Germany whose legal form and number of employees suggest that they are of greater economic importance. Based on the evaluation of business notifications, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the number of larger businesses established was therefore down 5.5% from the same quarter of the previous year.
