WIESBADEN – Goods to the value of 64.3 billion euros were exported from Germany to the United States in the period from January to May 2023. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that exports therefore rose by 7.0% compared with the same period a year earlier. In the first five months of 2023, Germany exported goods to the total value of 658.6 billion euros (+3.5% compared with January to May 2022). Accounting for a 9.8% share in total exports, the United States continued to be Germany's most important trading partner in terms of exports, followed by France (7.6%), the Netherlands (7.3%) and the People's Republic of China (6.2%).
