- Imports fell 6.2% in the same period
- Export surplus of 138.8 billion euros in the first six months of 2024
WIESBADEN – German exports decreased by 1.6% to 801.7 billion euros year on year in the first half of 2024. Goods to the total value of 662.8 billion euros were imported to Germany in the first six months of 2024. This was a decrease of 6.2% compared with the first half of 2023. Germany’s foreign trade balance (exports minus imports) amounted to +138.8 billion euros in the first half of 2024, and was therefore 28.7% higher than in the first half of 2023 (+107.9 billion euros).
