Borrowing from the library
The library of the Federal Statistical Office is open to anyone interested – it can be used free of charge. Private individuals who provide evidence of their place of residence being in, or close to Wiesbaden (up to about 30 km) can borrow media to a limited extent.
The terms of use of the library are binding.
To borrow media, you must be registered. For registration, the following data you have provided will be stored in our library system:
- Name, first name
- Address
- Date of birth
- Telephone number
- E-mail address, if possible
In addition, a photocopy of your identity card will be made to provide evidence of your place of residence. Borrowing from our library stock involves different lending periods, depending on the media type:
- Books, bound periodicals and subject-matter series from the storeroom: 2 weeks and one extension
- Books, subject-matter series, current periodicals, newspapers from the reading room and CD-ROMs in general: no lending
Persons not living in, or close to Wiesbaden may consult our stock of media in our reading room or order media for borrowing through the interlibrary loan service.
Our library is connected to the national and international lending network.
