Press release 218 / 2013-06-28: Consumer prices in June 2013: expected rise of +1.8% on June 2012

WIESBADEN – Consumer prices in Germany are expected to rise by 1.8% in June 2013 compared with June 2012. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the consumer prices are expected to increase by 0.1% on May 2013. 

The expected increase in food prices (+5.4%) will be markedly higher than the overall inflation rate.

The harmonised consumer price index for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to increase by 1.9% in June 2013 on June 2012. Compared with May 2013, it is expected to increase by 0.1%. 

The final results for June 2013 will be released on 10 July 2013.
