Press release 063 / 2016-02-26: Consumer price index in February 2016 expected to remain unchanged from February 2015
WIESBADEN – The inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be 0.0% in February 2016. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the consumer prices will increase by 0.4% on January 2016.

The harmonised consumer price index for Germany (HICP), which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to be down by 0.2% in February 2016 year on year. Compared with January 2016, it is expected to be up by 0.4%. For the first time the HICP estimate was calculated on the new base 2015=100.
