WIESBADEN – The inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be 2.2% in February 2017. Such a high rate of inflation was last measured in August 2012. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the consumer prices are expected to increase by 0.6% on January 2017.

In February 2017, the harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to increase by 2.2% year on year and 0.7% on January 2017.
The final results for February 2017 will be released on 14 March 2017.
