WIESBADEN – In August 2018, production in industry was down by 0.3% from the previous month on a price, seasonally and calendar adjusted basis according to provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). In July 2018, the revised figure shows a decrease of 1.3% (primary -1.1%) from June 2018.
In August 2018, production in industry excluding energy and construction was down by 0.1%. Within industry, the production of capital goods decreased by 0.7%.The production of consumer goods was up by 1.4% and the production of intermediate goods showed an increase of 0.1%. Energy production was up by 1.3% in July 2018 and the production in construction decreased by 1.8%.
The rates of change refer to the production index for the industry (2015 = 100). Seasonal and calendar adjustment is done using the X-13 JDemetra+ method.
