Definition of the indicator: The hourly gross earnings are an average value for all employees in the manufacturing industry (ISIC Rev.4, Section C). Hourly gross earnings include all payments made directly to the worker, before payroll deductions of any kind, consisting of pay for time worked and other direct pay. It does not include employer social insurance expenditures, but does include labor-related taxes and employee contributions to social insurance. The data published by the International Labour Organization (ILO) is largely based on results published by national statistical offices and Eurostat.
