Frequently asked questions
What are business functions?
The new classification of business functions refers to functions typically performed in an enterprise.
Business functions are subdivided into the core function and support functions.
The core function refers to the function yielding most of an enterprise’s income through selling goods or services in the market or to third parties.
Support functions permit or facilitate performing the enterprise's core business function. The output of support functions is not intended directly for the market or for third parties. The core function of an enterprise classified under the service sector may correspond to a support function.
What does sourcing mean?
Sourcing is the total or partial relocation of business functions currently performed in-house. Sourcing can be done within or outside of an enterprise group.
