Motivation factors for international sourcing

The reasons for moving business functions abroad are mainly cost-related. Reducing labour costs and other costs was considered as rather important by 84.4% and 62.1%, respectively, by the relevant enterprises. Other possible reasons such as less regulation abroad, lack of qualified labour within the country, or access to raw materials, were considered as less important.

Enterprises which deliberately decided against international sourcing have major concerns regarding legal-administrative obstacles abroad (53.8%), the political security abroad (51.8%) and general cost-benefit considerations (50.4%).
