CO₂ emissions from the production of goods for private household consumption

The index includes the CO2 emissions caused by the production of goods for private household consumption. The emissions are differentiated by their origin. This includes emissions from domestic production and emissions abroad in the production of intermediate and final use goods. The results are obtained from calculations based on an environmentally-extended input-output analysis.

Table

Share of imports in economy-wide material input

The share of imports in economy-wide material input is the imports of goods in tonnes in relation to domestic raw material extraction plus imports of goods - also measured in tonnes.

Table

CO2 emissions abroad from the production of German import goods

The index contains the CO2 emissions that are caused by the production of German import goods abroad. Both the emissions incurred abroad in the production of imported intermediate goods and the emissions caused in the production of goods for final use (domestic consumption and exports) are included. The results are obtained from calculations based on an environmentally-extended input-output analysis. For comparison purposes, Kyoto reporting CO2 emissions for Germany are shown.

Table

CO2 emissions from the production of export goods

The index includes the emissions caused by the production of export goods. This includes emissions from domestic production on the one hand and emissions generated abroad for the production of imported intermediate and final use goods on the other hand. The results are obtained from calculations based on an environmentally-extended input-output analysis. For comparison purposes, Kyoto reporting emissions for Germany are shown. From the data on emissions in Germany (according to the Kyoto Protocol) and on domestic emissions caused by exports, a share of exports is determined.

Imports in raw material equivalents

Following a complex calculation procedure imports are converted into raw materials used for their production. For the calculations a combination of life-cycle analysis and input-output analysis is used.

Table

Exports in raw material equivalents

Following a complex calculation procedure exports are converted into raw materials used for their production. For the calculations a combination of life-cycle analysis and input-output analysis is used.
