4 April 2023 Fewer new apprenticeship contracts in long-term care in 2022

A total of 146,500 apprentices were training to become generalist nurses at the end of 2022, according to first provisional results of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). 52,300 of these apprentices had signed their apprenticeship contract in 2022. The number of new apprenticeship contracts was down by 4,000, or 7%, compared with the previous year (2021: 56,300 new contracts).
