Assets, debts Real property of households in Germany up by just under 31%

The estimated current market value of real property owner­ship in Germany was an average 136,000 euros per house­hold at the beginning of 2018. This was a 31,3% increase on 2013, when the average value had been 103,600 euros. When consi­dering only the house­holds actually owning real property, the average current market value rose from 243,900 euros in 2013 to 295,400 euros in 2018 (+21,1%).

Just under 53,7% of private real property owners had real property of up to 250,000 euros at the beginning of 2018 accor­ding to their own estimates. Just under 23 % indi­cated values from 250,000 to under 375,000 euros. For a good 14,1% of the real property owners, the estimated current market values were over half a million euros, with 3.0% of the real property owners being real property millionaires (estimated current market values of real property of 1 million euros and over).
A total of just under 48 % of all households in Germany had indicated to own real property at the beginning of 2018.
