85% of the households in Germany had at least one flat-screen TV at the beginning of 2018. At the beginning of 2013, the rate had been 67%. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the equipment rate of flat-screen TVs rose by 18 percentage points within five years.
At the same time, there are more households with more than one flat-screen TV. At the beginning of 2008, 9% of the households had a second TV, while the share rose from 24% in 2013 to 30% at the beginning of 2018.
