As the results for the 2023 reporting year based on the 2022 census will not be available until December 2024, an estimate of the population size for Germany as a whole and differentiated by gender was made on the basis of the 2022 census. With the use of population movements according to the results of the statistics on births, deaths and migration that took place after the census date in the respective reporting year the population has been estimated based on the census result on population size of 15.05.2022.
