The past few months have been an extraordinary challenge for European official statistics. Providing relevant statistical data to overcome the coronavirus crisis has been of major importance and, considering the impact of the crisis, will continue to be so. Despite these challenges, the national statistical institutes have made great efforts to react to the crisis in the best possible way and provide the relevant data. As the statistics programme of the German Council Presidency focusses on insights gained from the crisis, we would like to provide more information on the measures taken by NSIs during the coronavirus crisis.
The interactive map shows the most important measures taken by the national statistical institutes to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This geographic overview provides a wide range of statistics, experimental statistics, projects or analyses published by the national statistical institutes. By selecting one of the countries in the map, you can find out more about the country-specific measures. Pictures and videos illustrate the NSIs' actions and links to COVID-19 specific websites provide more in-depth information. The map will be continuously updated.
