The coronavirus pandemic considerably increases the demand for reliable high-frequency data. Apart from the national development, there is a strong interest especially in comparisons with other EU Member States. European data on the impact of the corona crisis in the economic, financial and social spheres are now available on the European Statistical Recovery Dashboard of the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).
The European Statistical Recovery Dashboard was initiated by the Federal Statistical Office under the German EU Council Presidency and developed together with Eurostat and the EU Member States. It presents 23 monthly and quarterly indicators for the EU as a whole and for the individual Member States in a clear and compact manner. The interactive application enables the personalised display and the downloading and processing of the statistical data in line with the open data concept. In addition to the charts it also features brief descriptions of the economic and social situation in the latest period for which data are available. It will be updated monthly with the latest data available and supplemented by other relevant indicators in the future. The European Dashboard can be found on the Eurostat website.
