Euro area international trade in goods surplus 18.9 billion euros

The first estimate for euro area (EA-19) exports of goods to the rest of the world in October 2017 was 187.9 billion euros, an increase of 8.8% compared with October 2016 (172.6 billion euros). Imports from the rest of the world stood at 168.9 billion euros, a rise of 10.1% compared with October 2016 (153.4 billion euros).

1 in 6 EU businesses sold on the web in 2016

Last year, 16% of enterprises located in the European Union (EU) and employing at least 10 persons had received orders via a website or via apps. Web sales include both sales to individual consumers and to other enterprises. The share of EU enterprises making web sales rose from 12% in 2010 to around 16% in 2014, since when it has been relatively stable.

Industrial production up by 0.2% in euro area

In October 2017 compared with September 2017, seasonally adjusted industrial production rose by 0.2% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.3% in the EU-28, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
