Travelling by plane

National flight connections from major German airports Frankfurt/Main and Munich to Dresden are available several times a day operated for instance by Lufthansa. In addition a couple of direct international flight connections to Dresden exist, e.g. from London (UK), Zurich (Switzerland), Moscow (Russia). The City of Berlin as possible stop in between has got two airports (Berlin-Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld) with international flight connections. Train connections from Berlin main station to Dresden are available every hour and take between 2 and 4 hours.

For transfer from Dresden airport to the City of Dresden, local trains depart daily every 30 minutes from the station in the airport basement. The closest stop to the conference site is Dresden-Neustadt (12 minutes from the airport, 500 meters to the Conference Center). Trains also connect the airport to Dresden main station (20 minutes). The price for train tickets to the city is approximately 2.50 €. Please make sure to stamp your ticket before entering the train.

Taxi transfer from the airport to the city is about 25 €.

Train connections to Dresden from major cities take the following time:

  • Frankfurt: 5 hours
  • Munich: 7 hours
  • Hamburg: 5 hours
  • Cologne: 7 hours
  • Berlin: 2 to 4 hours
